The Research Centre on Financial Economics (CIEF) of the School of Economics and Management of the Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal (ISEG-UTL) is organising the 7^th Meeting on Social Security and Complementary Pensions Systems – Pensions Funds Ethics and Governance to be held on June 6, 2008.

This meeting aims to offer a forum for researchers (Ph.D. students, Post docs and others) to present and discuss with a competent audience their theoretical or empirical papers. Fields of interest are particularly:

1. Private pensions and annuities
   
2. Longevity risk
   
3. Financial performance of pension funds
   
4. Pension funds and financial systems
   
5. Pension funds governance
   
6. Pension funds risk management
   
7. Valuation of pension liabilities
   
8. Pension funds asset management
   
9. Social security systems reforms and sustainability
   
10. Financial education and retirement savings
    

The papers should be around 25 pages and their presentation about 20 minutes. Following the presentation we will try to assure a competent discussant to comment the paper (participants are also invited to candidate for discussants of the papers).

Please submit your complete paper, including the name, institution, and address of the author(s), as well as the e-mail address of the corresponding author to the Conference Coordinator.

Submission deadline is April 22, 2008.

The programme of the meeting should be ready by early June 2008 and all the participants should have access to the papers that will be presented at the meeting.
